the start
|
Asist was formed in early
1994 from a steering committee made up of various voluntary bodies
and interested parties. It is a registered charity and a company
limited by guarantee. The organisation is governed by an Executive
Committee made up of people from the voluntary sector along with
other members of the community. If you are interested in Advocacy
and want to be part of Asist you can always be a member of our
executive. It meets every other month in the evening in Stafford. We
do not use executive members as unpaid staff; their duty is to make
policy. We particularly welcome applications from service users and
members from the ethnic minorities - both groups are very under
represented on our executive.

Asist has six offices: The largest is in Stoke on Trent which
covers the North of Staffordshire
and the City of Stoke on Trent. The other five are smaller and
cover particular geographical areas.
All the projects work out of these offices and are contactable via
the "projects"
pages or the "contacting"
page. |
